After the death of Herod the Great and the funeral ceremony the princes and hopeful heirs travelled to Rome again to claim their rights to Herod’s throne, or a part of it, from the emperor Augustus.

I assume that Jesus travelled with them in the entourage of Herod Antipas to back up his friend and possible employer. As Herod Antipas took over the rule in Galilee and Perea, Jesus became unemployed.

No tradition tells whether Jesus was already doing anything on the orders of the tetrarch, whether he administrated the fortune of his family or whether he was without any regular job, as Agrippa I. was later, before he took on a province under the emperor Caligula.
